anyo is for sending short videos to the few people you're closest to. We keep only what that needs, and we don't sell, share or use anything for advertising. There's no tracking and no analytics.

What we keep

Your contacts

If you let anyo read your contacts, each phone number is scrambled on your phone (a one-way SHA-256 hash) and only those scrambled numbers are compared against people already on anyo. We don't store them. Names, emails and the rest of your address book never leave your phone.

How long videos last

Each of you keeps only your latest video to the other, so you can watch it again. When one of you sends a newer video, the older one, once it's been watched, is deleted. Anything untouched for 30 days is deleted too. If someone reports a video, we keep it until we've looked at the report.

Who can see what

Only you and the person you sent a video to can see it. The one exception is Anyo, the penguin in the app: videos you send to Anyo (a hello, a bug report or an idea) go to the anyo team so we can answer and fix things. There's no public profile and no feed. People can find you by your phone number or your anyo ID, and only people you accept can send you videos.

Blocking and reporting

Hold someone's face, tap the x, and choose Report or Block. Blocking stops both of you from finding, adding or sending to each other. We review reports within 24 hours and can remove accounts that break the rules.

Deleting your account

Tap your photo, then Delete account. It removes your sign-in, profile, videos, friends and requests straight away. Can't open the app? See how to delete your account.

Who helps us run anyo

Supabase stores the data and videos, and handles sign-in. Twilio sends the sign-in codes by SMS. Google Firebase delivers notifications. Vercel hosts the website. They process data only on our behalf. Everything travels encrypted.

Children

anyo isn't meant for children under 13.
